Apart from a brief half-year spent in India, I have lived my whole life in the Southeast, steeped in the kind of acoustic folk music and Appalachian ballads rarely heard on the radio these days. I love all types of music, but there is nothing quite like the vibration of wood and strings to really make me come alive. It's funny to think that amplification, the way we think about it, has only been around 100 years or so, but before that for centuries people gathered together to hear songs close enough to hear naturally. House shows really keep that intimate tradition going. I am a singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitar player crafting modern folk tunes about life.
